Marine Training

Deep Sea Charters have been assisting TAFE in providing on board practical training for over 6 years.

We currently provide practical on board training to General Purpose Hands, Coxswains, Marine Engineer 3 and Master Class 5 students.

This includes :General Operations, Vessel Maintenance, Filling out Task Books, Providing Offshore Sea Time.

We allow applicants 1 Free trip to assess their requirements and find suitable dates for training. Thereafter there is a charge of $100 per day for on board training. All Offshore Sea Time is rated at our normal 8 hour day spent offshore on board.

About your instructor: Captain Colin Wishart

Colin has been teaching in the maritime industry for over 25 years and is a qualified Trainer Assessor and Invigilator for the Australian Maritime College. He is also a qualified Master/ Engineer with over 50 years of experience ranging through fishing in the North Sea and North Atlantic, serving with North Sea Standby vessels, serving with RLNI around Britain including the Rye inshore lifeboat. Having served on Port Jackson for over 34 years including :Owning Fuel Barges, Water Taxis, Owning and Operating Marina’s and Slipways. Owning and operating Offshore Fishing and Whale watching vessels and much more.
